Hey, I’m Iva - the face behind I-vie Photography.


I am originally from Switzerland, now a Brisbane based Photographer, specialising in the art of Maternity, Newborn & Baby Photography.

I was not born with a camera in my hands, and being a professional photographer was not always the obvious career path. Before taking up photography as a full-time career over 2 years ago, I worked full time in Finance and spent 12 years as a Swiss banker, how cliché you might say?

I met my partner on a holiday in Thailand and we knew quite quickly we had something special but him living in Australia and myself in Switzerland was going to be tricky but one day I came home after work and he was there to surprise me! We started our life together in Switzerland, travelling, making memories and then we had the amazing news, I was pregnant!

During my pregnancy I went for a Maternity shoot - it was a special moment, I created a bond with the photographer hearing her story, I felt at ease and created beautiful memories. It was a light bulb moment for me, being pregnant was when my outlook on life changed, working in finance was not my priority anymore.

I wanted to be behind the lens using my creativity to help other expectant families capture special moments, so I decided to take the leap of faith and follow my new passion in photography.

I began my training and study of photography receiving one on one mentoring by one of Switzerland’s best photographers.

Fast forward a couple of years and my little family and I made the move to Australia and I have opened my own studio. Photography allows me to maintain balance in my life, spending quality time watching my son Alek grow and enjoying taking amazing photographs.

I believe no matter the distance or time between family and friends we can always bring them closer by capturing and sharing special moments and milestones. I love being a part of the family journey and during each shoot I feel so humbled to be doing what I love.
